NJM and Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County Celebrate Workplace Mentoring Program Graduation for Foundation Academies Students

Trenton, NJ — [May 19, 2025] — NJM Insurance Group, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County, proudly celebrated the graduation of Foundation Academies students from the Workplace Mentoring Program during a special ceremony held this week. The event recognized the accomplishments of students who successfully completed another year of this multi-year mentoring initiative, which provides young people with critical career-readiness experiences, including job exploration, interview preparation, resume and portfolio development, and workplace skills training.

Five graduating seniors were honored for completing the program and preparing to take the next steps in their educational journeys. These students will be attending colleges and universities including Mercer County Community College, Kean University, Rowan University, Rutgers University, and Coppin State University.

Foundation Academies is a high-performing public charter school network located in Trenton, New Jersey, serving students in grades K-12. Founded in 2007, Foundation Academies is committed to providing a rigorous, nurturing, and student-centered education that prepares all learners for college, careers, and a lifetime of success.

The Workplace Mentoring Program, made possible by NJM’s Corporate Giving initiatives, connects Foundation Academies students with NJM employee mentors over the course of several years. The program aims to build confidence and real-world readiness through consistent guidance, hands-on workshops, and relationship-building between mentors and mentees.

“My mentor brought something out of me that I didn’t realize was in there,” said one graduating student. “I was shy, but my mentor taught me to be more outgoing. I’m very proud of who I’ve come to be.”

NJM Corporate Giving Supervisor Jeff Richardson addressed the students during the event, offering words of encouragement and inspiration: “Humanity needs you. Whether it's here in Trenton, or somewhere around the globe—you will make a difference in the world.”

This year’s graduation ceremony was a celebration of growth, perseverance, and the lasting impact of mentorship. NJM and the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County remain committed to investing in the potential of local youth and supporting programs that prepare them for a brighter future.
